Overview:
The module on digital skills and video making aims to equip students and also teaching staff with some basics on the digitization of our world. We will investigate the concept of digital competencies at 360° by trying to go beyond the simple definition and see what positive effects these competencies have on our lives. Likewise, we will try to lay the foundations for the critical use of these skills to avoid the actual negative effects of digitization. A final session will cover the video-making part in which useful hints and technical tips on video recording will be offered.
Objectives:
- Understand in depth what digital competences are and why they are important.
- Encourage students to reflect on their digital competences and how they impact and influence their lives.
- To provide the target group with knowledge about the relationship between digital skills and the risks of technologies.
- To provide guidelines for videomaking
Target Group:
Teachers & Staff working in secondary education especially those who are working with migrant and disadvantaged children (12-18 years old)
Anyone eager to learn how to elevate his/her digital fluency and unlock the power of video making!
Expected Outcomes:
- The topics of digital skills will be explored with a focus on the youth world and the school world.
- Students will therefore be able to distinguish different digital skills
- Students will be more aware of the tools they have at their disposal and will be able to differentiate between a functional use and a non-functional use of the digital world
- Students will understand how this the digital competences directly and indirectly influence our daily lives
- Students and teachers will be provided with the basic skills to record videos and edit them.
